             Ground Calcium Carbonate

Chem Source supplies high purity fine Calcium Carbonate obtained from white and high brightness sources.
Ground limestone is available in a broad range of sizes. When specifying the size of a ground calcium carbonate, either the top size (the size of the largest particles) or the median particle size (essentially the average) can be used.
Ground calcium carbonates can range down in particle size to just a few microns, 1 to 3, with the top size controlled for high performance applications to 5 microns.

Field of Applications:
Calcium carbonate is used in wide range of applications such as paints, coatings, plastics, adhesives, sealants, paper industry, cement, drilling, and glazes.

             Plastics

Chem Source Calcium carbonate powder is widely used in thermoplastic industry. It is used as filler and provides a cost-effective whiteness to the product.

             Paints

Calcium carbonate is used in paint industry as extender, opacifier, and works as impact modifiers. It is also useful for their bulking properties. Depending on particle size calcium carbonate can be used to decrease and control gloss levels, a useful feature in matt paints. As an extender, calcium carbonate can represent as much as 30% by weight in paints.

             Paper

Chem Source In the paper industry, it is valued worldwide for its high brightness and light scattering characteristics, and is used as a filler to make bright opaque paper.

             Adhesives and sealants

Calcium carbonate also is used widely as filler in adhesives, and sealants.
